A glimpse into my scale modeling hobby

My history as a modeler

I began modeling when I was a kid, but I found that I lacked the patience and fine motor skills to really be successful at it. I gave up the hobby as I grew older, until I had some free time between finishing grad school and starting my job as a teacher. My wife bought me a Roman warship model for our anniversary, and I was off and running again. I followed that model with some old Ertl Star Wars kits ordered from eBay and from then on, I haven’t had less than one model lined up to work on next.

  1. Are you willing to sell your model podracer?
    What would you charge?

    • First of all, I am incredibly flattered that someone enjoys my work so much. Thank you! I am open to selling, especially if we could arrange something local to the St. Louis area. My biggest worry is that I won’t pack it well enough to avoid breaking. I have to do some more research into packing and shipping models. As far as charge, I would probably start with an offer around $40-50 and negotiate from there. This would recoup the cost of the kit and supplies with some extra thrown in for man hours. That’s where I’m at right now. Let me know if that still interests you.
