A Leap Forward
Seeing as today marks a time change here in the U.S., I thought it only appropriate to give an intro to my latest project. I found this kit for a pretty good price on eBay, but it is quite old. When I got the box the first thing I noticed was how faded and worn it was. In fact, it looked like it could have come straight from October 25, 1985.
If you didn’t recognize the date reference, the picture above seals the deal. I was really excited to find this kit because I love this car and the Back to the Future movies a lot. One of my Pinewood Derby cars was even built to look like the famous time machine. The kit’s scale is 1/24, which I believe is a fairly common scale for cars. The last time I built any kind of car was for 4H many, many years ago, so this is a bit out of my usual playground.
I am now a good way into the kit, and I am enjoying it so far. I normally don’t get into cars, but this one has the movie tie-in to hold my interest. The body has quite a bit of detail painting, which I really enjoy. It is a good challenge and usually has good results.
Not much else to update on now, but check back often because where we’re going we don’t need roads!
